'The Flash' movie release date, updates, and plot rumors: Ezra Miller plays lead role
"The Flash" live-action movie is confirmed to premiere on March 16, 2018, with Ezra Miller as the lead protagonist of the film. The film was initially set for a March 28 opening, but ended up for an earlier screening.
Miller starred as the title character in notable films including "We Need to Talk about Kevin," and co-starred in the movie adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." Now, joining the Marvel world, he will be playing the role of the lightning-fast superhero Flash. In an interview with IGN last month, Miller talked about the "mythos" behind the Flash. "He's been struck by lightning, that's the mythos" Miller said. "But he's a human. He can run through walls. He can run across water. He can run so fast that he can move into another plain of frequency where there's another reality."
Miller was also interviewed by MTV a few months ago regarding a Flash TV-counterpart. "I think it's awesome! C'mon, we're The Flash! It's parallel universes! Grant Gustin is The Flash AND I'm The Flash, don't you see? It's the Event Horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chillin', we're gonna have a race, it's gonna be dope. Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day." Furthermore, the young actor expressed his love for the TV series, claiming how he is a big fan of the show.
With still two years of anticipation for the movie premiere, fan theories abound the internet, one of which is a cameo appearance by Flash in the upcoming film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." In a report by Entertainment Weekly, the Flash might possibly appear in a dream sequence. Particularly in Batman's nightmare, the Flash delivers the Dark Knight a "cryptic message." For now, fans should anticipate more spoilers in the coming months as the movie development progresses.
