'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Kid Flash suits up in 2017; will Julian be joining the team?
The future does not look very promising for Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton), as revealed in the midseason finale of "The Flash." How will Barry handle this truth and what measures will he be willing to take to prevent Iris' impending death?
In a preview for the next episode shared on a fan's Facebook page, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), who has officially suited up as Kid Flash, has successfully put down an adversary known as Plunder, who happened to be the meta-human in the news report that Barry saw in the future on the night Iris died.
Barry doesn't seem to be in a good mood, and is even more upset that Wally has not followed his orders and acted on his own instead of just shadowing and observing. Could this outburst have been driven by Barry's own anxieties over what he knows is about to happen? Will his efforts of reversing Iris' death work for the better or end up making things even worse than when he inadvertently created Flashpoint?
On top of this, Savitar (Tobin Bell) has also teased Team Flash about what he claims is going to happen to them without mentioning any names. Since he came from the future, there may be truth to his words. Who will betray the team? Who will fall? And who will suffer a fate far worse than death? How will Team Flash hope to defeat an adversary who knows so much about their present, past, and future selves?
One good thing that happened in the previous episode, though, was to tease a possible alliance between Team Flash and genius scientist, Julian (Tom Felton), who now knows the real identity of the Flash. Has Savitar's control over his mind really been abolished? And will he ever consider working with Team Flash in bringing down the meta-humans?
Meanwhile, Cosmic Book News cited a recent "Fan Feast" interview with Carlos Valdes, wherein the actor teased the impending arrival of the DC Comics character, Gypsy. Not only will Valdes' character, Cisco, get to know her, he will also be learning some new skills from her.
"I'm excited to see how that plays out," Valdes added.
"The Flash" season 3 will return with all-new episodes on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
