'The Flash' season 3 episode 11 spoilers, news: DC Comics' Gypsy fights against Cisco; Darren Criss joins cast for Flash–Supergirl musical crossover
A female superhero heads to Earth-1 for an important mission on the upcoming episode of The CW's superhero drama "The Flash" season 3.
Titled "Dead or Alive," next week's episode will see the arrival of a new female DC character. According to the official synopsis, H.R.'s (Tom Cavanagh) past unexpectedly catches up with him. Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho), a bounty hunter with vibe powers, arrives in central City to bring H.R. back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime.
Later in the episode, it will be revealed that inter-dimensional travel is not allowed on their Earth. H.R. surrenders to Gypsy, but Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) discover that their friend's only hope would be to challenge Gypsy to a fight to the death. As a result, the duo intercedes, and Cisco offers to challenge Gypsy instead.
On other related news, "The Flash" and "Supergirl" are staging yet another crossover episode set to air on March 20 and 21. The two-part musical crossover is made extra special because it will reunite Darren Criss (guest starring as the Big Bad Music Meister) with his former "Glee" costars, Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke with TV Line about the second Flash/Supergirl crossover, and he revealed that he's looking forward to how the episode plays out. "With our Flash and our Supergirl being 'Glee' alums, how could we not have them go up against another Glee favorite like Darren Criss?" the EP said. "We have been blown away by his talent over the years and we can't wait to see what he brings to the Music Meister," he went on to say.
In the comics, the Music Meister's main power is his singing voice. It creates a pitch so high that it could hypnotize people, making his victims sing and dance. He also has the uncanny ability to quickly change his outfit inspired by different eras in music history.
The third season of "The Flash" airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
