'The Flash' season 3 episode 5 spoilers: The new Harrison stirs up trouble; Cisco catches on
Team Flash welcomed a new addition to their crew in the previous episode, but he's really not all he's cracked up to be. Who is Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and can he really be trusted?
The preview for this week's episode of "The Flash" begs to differ as it shows the new Harrison in a rather shady light. He waves a stick in front of the computers when Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) tells him to triangulate a signal relevant to the task at hand and later fails to pick up on Cisco's "Star Wars" reference before clumsily correcting himself.
When Harrison from Earth-2 said he didn't have a good feeling about his very own doppelganger from Earth-19, Cisco surmised that he was really just resenting the idea of someone else replacing him, even if that someone was himself from another Earth. Now it seems that Earth-2 Harrison's suspicion is not completely without merit, as will soon be revealed in the fifth episode of "The Flash" season 3 titled, "Monster."
"No one seems the wiser as to why I'm here," the new Harrison says, looking very much like someone who's about to get Team Flash in a lot of trouble.
The past seasons of The CW's superhero series has already seen many different versions of Harrison, all of whom, save for the real Earth-1 Harrison, have betrayed Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin). Now that a new Harrison is in town, his very existence begs the question of if and when he does betray Barry, how and why will he do so?
When asked which version of Harrison was his favorite so far in a recent interview with Variety, actor Cavanagh said that it was a privilege to have been able to play many different iterations of one character. He also hinted on the significance of having played the Reverse-Flash, which was the first version of Harrison he got to play.
"That was my starting point and I'm sure, at some point, that'll be my return point as well," Cavanagh said.
Meanwhile, Cavanagh together with "Arrow" star Emily Bett Rickards and "Once Upon A Time's" Prince Charming, Josh Dallas, have all teamed up for a short superhero flick titled "Sidekick." The movie features a father who shares important life lessons to his son through bedtime stories. It was directed by Jeff Cassidy and is available to watch online on the official "Sidekick" YouTube channel.
"The Flash" season 3 episode 5 airs on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
