'The Flash' season 3 spoilers news 2016: Series to introduce Justice League character Gypsy
"The Flash" will bring yet another hero from the Justice League when The CW's hit superhero series returns for its third season next year.
In the midseason finale titled "The Present," Mark Hamill made a cameo appearance as the Earth-3 Trickster. John Wesley Shipp also made the Christmas episode even more interesting when he helped Barry (Grant Gustin) battle it out with Savitar.
Carlos Valdes recently caught up with DC All Access' Tiffany Smith (via Cosmic Book News), and he revealed teasers on what's next for the hit series. The actor confirmed that a new face will soon be introduced in the back half of season 3. "There's going to be a new visitor to our world named Gypsy," Valdes hinted. "DC Comics fans will be familiar with Gypsy. She is going to be coming in our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her. So I'm excited to see how that plays out," he added.
First introduced in a "Justice League Annual" in 1984, the comic book version of Gypsy (a.k.a. Cindy Reynolds) started developing her powers in her early teens. She is a metahuman who has the ability to camouflage herself with her surroundings, making herself invisible using illusions. She became a member of JLA Detroit after the original formation was disbanded, and she also became a part of the Justice League Task Force. Gypsy also became a part of the DC Comics New 52 "Vibe" comic, where Gypsy gets stranded on Earth when she is accidentally separated from her traveling gypsy family.
To date, it remains unclear how Gypsy's TV version will be similar to her comic book counterpart. Also, there's still no word on who will be taking on the role.
The third season of "The Flash" returns to the small screen on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
