Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) vows to protect Iris West (Candice Patton) in the imminent danger in the next episode of "The Flash" season 3.

In the trailer for the episode titled "Borrowing Problems from the Future," which will air after the show's holiday hiatus, Barry will confess to Iris that he saw Savitar (voiced by Tobin Bell) killing her.

The revelation hit Iris hard. But her boyfriend promised her that he will do everything that he can to prevent that from happening. He will even ask the rest of Team Flash for help to ensure that Iris will not end up dying in Savitar's hands. Barry proposes that if they can change one of the events leading to the time of Iris' death, it could mean that they can change it all.

Meanwhile, it seems like the Earth-2 killer Zoom will once again cause chaos in Central City, based on the statements from actor Teddy Sears.

In an interview with TV Guide, Sears confirmed that his character had been transformed to become the Black Flash. "He's like the grim reaper for speedsters," Sears stated in the interview. "Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series."

If the Black Flash will reappear in one of the upcoming episodes of "The Flash" season 3, he can help Barry take down Savitar, who happens to be a very powerful speedster.

But Sears' schedule is currently tied in FOX's "24: Legacy," which means that it would be hard for him to confirm if he can return to The Flash universe anytime soon. Still, the actor claimed that he would love to go back on the show.

"It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We'll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way," Sears stated. "It sounds like they do, but it's funny —- now I belong to Fox, so there's lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so."

"The Flash" season 3 is slated to return to The CW on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.
