Fans and viewers should expect nothing less in "The Flash" season 3 especially after the way the second season ended. With Barry Allen completely changing the timeline in his desire to save his mother, immeasurable repercussions are to be expected.

The change in timeline resulted in the "Flashpoint" arc, but according to one of the executive producers of "The Flash," TV version's Flashpoint will be different from what fans of the comic book series know. Apparently, in the TV series, the arc will focus on Barry's angle of Flashpoint.

"The stakes in the comic book in Flashpoint were global and the stakes in this episode are very much just about Barry, his existence, and the people that he loves," Andrew Kreisberg tells Entertainment Weekly in an interview.

According to spoilers, "The Flash" season 3 will pick up three months after Barry went back in time to save his mother, and ultimately changing the course of history. An extended trailer shows him enjoying a fantasy life with his mother and father in it, something Barry feels he deserves after everything he's been through as the Scarlet Speedster. Check out the trailer below.

Screen Rant reports that comic book writer and director Kevin Smith was greatly impressed with episodes 1 and 2 of the series.

"They're shooting Episode 6 right now, so I've seen Episode 1 and 2 cut together. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. The bar is high, so I'm kind of worried about that," he said.

Smith will be directing season 7, and according to him, it will be an action-packed episode. In an Instagram post, he revealed that "The Flash" season 3 episode 7 will have many "first" moments coupled with a "super heroic sparring spectacle."

Taking to Twitter last Sept. 1, the 46-year-old writer-director teased that there will be lots of action-y stuff in season 7 than the last episode he directed, season 2's episode 21 titled "The Runaway Dinosaur."

"The Flash" season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
