'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, plot and cast news: Danielle Panabaker on Caitlin's role in crossover
In the latest episode of "The Flash" season 3, Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) worst fear became real and her villainous alter ego, Killer Frost, was finally unleashed. But in the upcoming four-way crossover between the DC television shows, Caitlin appears as herself and Killer Frost is nowhere to be found.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Panabaker spoke about what will happen to Caitlin/Killer Frost and revealed that Caitlin will be struggling to keep Killer Frost in check. The actress said that Caitlin will need the help of her friends to do this and that Team Flash and an old friend will be there for her.
As for what role her character plays in the superhero-gathering that is the crossover, Panabaker said: "I'm not sure she quite knows where she belongs in this world of superheroes. They all are so experienced and really know what they have to contribute."
According to the actress, Caitlin will thus be at a loss as to how she can help the rest. When asked if Caitlin/Killer Frost will be involved in the major secret that brings up trust issues among the superheroes in the crossover, Panabaker said she does not appear in all four of the crossover episodes and thus cannot be certain.
"There's a storyline that there is a revelation that you learn, I believe, in the 'Flash' episode, and that carries through," she offered, but added that she doesn't know if it is Flashpoint-related.
Meanwhile, "Legends of Tomorrow" star Victor Garber, who plays Martin Stein/Firestorm, recently spoke about The Flash's secret message that was found in Rip Hunter's (Arthur Darvill) secret room on the Waverider. According to Garber, viewers will find out how his character deals with the message in the upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow" crossover episode. According to the actor, the message is both a big mystery and a big deal.
"It's just part of the whole mystery of time travel and the fact that this is coming from Barry years later and then when he finds out..." the actor told Comic Book Resources. "It sort of unfolds as these things do on these shows, and lots of things occur in that time period," he added.
"The Flash" season 3 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
