'The Fosters' season 4 episode 13 spoilers: Callie's biological father resurfaces; Mike makes a life-changing decision
Callie's (Maia Mitchell) legal problems are compounded when she gets in a conflict with a guard on the upcoming episode of Freeform's gripping family drama "The Fosters" season 4.
Titled "Cruel and Unusual," next week's episode will explore Callie's time in a juvenile hall. According to the official synopsis, Callie is determined to get out of juvenile hall, so she tries to be on her best behavior. However, when she refuses to accept a guard's propositions, she ends up having an enemy. While Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) find ways to get Callie out of juvie as soon as possible, her biological father, Robert (guest star Kerr Smith, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D"), resurfaces.
He angrily confronts Callie's foster parents for keeping him in the dark about Callie's situation. Elsewhere, Brandon's (David Lambert) way of questioning a situation leads to some serious consequences for Mariana (Cierra Ramirez). Mike (Danny Nucci) is forced to make life-changing decisions, while Jude (Hayden Byerly) gets another chance to make it right with Noah (Kalama Epstein).
Callie's tumultuous journey on "The Fosters" recently took another turn for the worse when she ended up being placed in juvenile detention. She went to the police station to give a statement about a hit-and-run accident she was involved in, but it turned into a confession of fault. Despite Stef's efforts to get their eldest daughter freed, Callie had to be kept behind bars because her previous runaway attempt made her a flight risk.
With Stef and Teri tied up with Jesus (Noah Centineo) in the hospital, Mitchell said in an interview that Callie's predicament will bring her closer to another person she trusts: Aaron. "He's really the one that she's gone to with all the information," she told TV Guide last week. "You definitely see that AJ is pushed aside a little bit, unintentionally. You definitely see Callie forming a close bond with Aaron through all of this," she went on to say.
The fourth season of "The Fosters" airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
