'The Incredibles 2' release date and plot news: Movie bumped up a year earlier; 'Toy Story 4' delayed
It has been a while since Disney announced the release of Pixar sequels like "Toy Story 4" and "The Incredibles 2," but now they have shifted the schedules, and it looks like the "Incredibles" sequel will be coming a year earlier while "Toy Story 4" has been delayed.
Originally, "Incredibles 2" was set for a release in 2019 and "Toy Story" for 2018, but the schedules have now flipped. "Incredibles 2" will be hitting theaters on June 15, 2018, and "Toy Story 4" will be coming out on June 21, 2019.
Some reports have actually pointed out that "Toy Story" was originally slated to come out in 2017, so this is actually the second time that it has been delayed. After the massive success of "Toy Story 3," some fans think that the films that came after were "hit and miss."
Reports are saying that Brad Bird, the man behind the first "Incredibles" movie, will be coming back to direct the sequel. Samuel L. Jackson, who voiced the ice-powered hero in the movie, is also rumored to return, as he has said that Bird mentions the movie whenever they see each other.
There have also been rumors that say that the story will focus on a more grown-up Jack-Jack. At the end of the first movie, it was revealed that Jack-Jack may be the member of the family who could be the most powerful — what with the baby being able to change the composition of his molecular structure and have shapeshifting abilities. Other fan theories even peg him as the villain in the movie, with his older brother Dash as the protagonist.
Nevertheless, it's been more than a decade since the first movie, so fans are absolutely excited to see the superhero family return to the big screen.
