'The Incredibles 2' Release Date, Spoilers News: Helen and Bob Quitting Superhero Business? Find Out Summer 2016
One of the most-awaited animated movie sequels, "The Incredibles 2" will be coming to theaters in 3D in the summer of 2016.
The original movie, "The Incredibles," was released in 2004, the sixth film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. It was directed by Brad Bird and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
The movie is about a family of superheroes who are forced to hide their powers and live a quiet suburban life. In the end, they have to battle an evil villain and his killer robot to save mankind.
The movie was critically acclaimed and won two Oscars.
Now that a sequel has been announced, speculations are swirling as to what would be the focus and plot of "The Incredibles 2."
One of the reasons why the sequel took a long time coming was that the people behind the movie wanted to make sure they have a good story. Bird has been quoted several times in the past that he has never stopped brainstorming for ideas. He said he needs to find a storyline that has real potential to match or even improve on the original movie.
There are rumors that in the sequel, Helen and Bob will be quitting the superhero business for good and that the story will instead focus on Jack Jack and Dash.
There are also rumors that Syndrome will definitely return and team up with another villain to take on the Incredibles, although how they will explain how Syndrome escaped death after what happened in the first movie (his cape got caught in the engines of an airplane) would be interesting to see.
As to who the other villain would be, initial thoughts were for the Underminer. However, these rumors were later shot down. Underminer might make an appearance in the sequel though.
Another rumored new villain is Gazerbeam, who may be someone close to Simon J. Paladino, the original Gazerbeam and an advocate of superhero rights, who was disgraced and died in the hands of the Omnidroid used by Syndrome to destroy all superheroes.
