Nintendo has continuously been providing updates and information for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." One of these includes the announcement that the 30th anniversary of Amiibo will be playing a role in the actual gameplay.

The company revealed on their official Tumblr page that "Zelda" players will be able to earn or unlock several new in-game items by using the 30th anniversary Amiibo for the game.

According to Cinema Blend, there are four different Amiibo made available in celebration of the franchise's long run.

First is a classic 8-bit Link from the NES version of "The Legend of Zelda." This Link will reward gamers with a random number of barrels, and some of these barrels may have rupees as well.

The second Link is from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." This Link will reward gamers with a nice helping of meat once the Amiibo is used in the game. The free meat is extremely useful in "Breath of the Wild" because it's how Link maintains his health and stamina throughout the adventures.

The third Amiibo is a Toon Link from the well-known GameCube release of "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker." This game relied more on sailing between small isles. In the new game, the Amiibo will be used for sailing and exploration, allowing gamers to have a healthy helping of fish.

The fourth and final Amiibo is the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda. The Zelda Amiibo is also based on the "Wind Waker" game. This Zelda will grant gamers a random selection of plants which can be used for crafting purposes.

All four Amiibos are currently available as part of the 30th anniversary of the long-running franchise. Using them could help out gamers with a few extra rupees and food supplies. The extra boost, no matter how little, could help them during their journeys in the "Breath of the Wild" game.

The "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is set for launch sometime in 2017 for the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch.
