'The Order 1886' Update April 2015 News: Game's Latest Update Features Photo Mode with Filters
Good news for those who play "The Order: 1886." A recent update for the game brought with it a Photo Mode and a set of filters. The brand-new mode for capturing images comes with a camera that is untethered. Using it, gamers can add filters and remove characters before sharing the edited images on social media.
The announcement of the Photo Mode for "Destiny" was made on the PlayStation Blog as the game is exclusive to PS4. The blog post noted that players had requested for such a photo mode so that they could share "the realism, beauty, and detail of the Neo-Victorian world" which is featured in the game. Sony said using the new mode, players will get the ability to "compose, capture, and share stunning images of your favorite moments, characters, and environments."
"Destiny" is famous for its fine visuals. Several reviewers heaped praises on the game after it was released, with one reviewer describing it as "ridiculously attractive" even though the game does not deliver much in terms of player involvement and empathy.
With the release of the Photo Mode, Sony seems to be acknowledging that the visuals are the strong point in the game.
When choosing to use the Photo Mode, the Camera Bias option, which gives the players the ability to choose on which shoulder the camera is positioned over, is removed.
Instead within the Photo Mode is an untethered camera on which gamers can adjust colors with the aid of sliders, increase or decrease contrast, add a lens flare and choose to use black and white. Interestingly, the Photo Mode even allows users to remove characters from the scene and thereby shift attention to the environment.
Finally when they are satisfied with the final image created, players can share it using the PS4's sharing feature. As icing on the cake, they can opt to leave the tweaked filters in place as they proceed through the game.
