Electronic Arts, the brains behind the addicting life simulation video game "The Sims," has revealed that gamers have already spent over 12,000 years since the launch of "The Sims 4" on Sept. 2, 2014.

"If you added up all the time your Sims have spent in the game, it would be over 12,000 years. We could literally take all of the Sims you've created and wrap them all the way around the Earth," said EA in its blog, given that the average height of a Sim is 1.877 meters and the Earth's circumference is 24,902 miles or 40,075 km.

According to statistics gathered by the gaming company, there have been 32 million Sims by gamers and counting.

Meanwhile there are 5.7 million babies born in six months, equivalent to one baby every three seconds.

The most popular aspiration for a Sim is "love" versus "fortune," but love rules, not money.

Forty percent of Sims are married compared to 51 percent of U.S. adults based on data from Pew Research Center as of February this year.

However, more Sims stay in a married relationship than do real-life adults in the U.S. There are far more divorced U.S. adults (40 percent), based on information from the American Psychological Association, than Sims (two percent).

The average Sim also has four times more sexual intercourse -- in Sims term, "woohoo" -- per month than a U.S. married couple. EA has reported that Sims have performed 105 million "woohoos."

An average Sim's net worth is 399,730 Simoleons. If the Sim's currency is translated into U.S. dollars, the average net worth would be 15 percent more funds than the average American adult.

More than 21 million careers have been started by Sims since the game's launch.

Sims can also die of laughter. There have been 3,000 deaths by laughter so far. But the most common Sim death is due to old age (32 percent), followed by hunger (18 percent), and fire (14 percent).
