After the fate of former Lord Commander and current King in the North Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in HBO's "Game of Thrones," the identity of the Alexandrian who was Lucille'd to death in the season 6 finale of AMC's "TWD" is the biggest and most speculated-about secret in recent television history. And while fans have various theories on who among Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group was Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) victim, the show has managed to keep a tight lid on the mystery, which will surely make for a truly explosive season 7 opener.

AMC has been so paranoid about spoiling the big season 6 finale secret that it has threatened to sue a "TWD" fan group famous for posting spoilers. And as "TWD" cast members have previously reported, the show goes to great lengths to prevent snoops from spoiling future episodes. Actors and actresses reportedly wear hoods over their costumes and makeups when moving between sets. And as some cast members previously claimed, even they don't know the identity of the victim in the season 6 finale.

But with just a few months to go before the season 7 premiere, things have apparently changed. In a recent interview with IGN, Marquand confirmed that he knows who was killed in the season 6 finale. But he isn't spilling the beans.

"I do personally know, but we're obviously not at liberty to talk about that," the actor told IGN at the grand opening of Universal Studios Hollywood's The Walking Dead attraction.

"They do take it seriously, and I think it's a good reason," he said about AMC's handling of season 7. "We want to protect it for the fans who don't want it spoiled. I think the majority of fans don't want to know. They want it to be an unspoiled thing."

According to the actor, having started as a fan of the show, he would also hate it if someone were to reveal a major secret like that to him.

"That's like skipping to the last page of the book," he said.

Marquand isn't the first "TWD" star to speak about knowing the identity of the mystery victim.

In an interview with E! News in June, actress/playwright Danai Gurira let slip that she knows who will die when season 7 airs its premiere episode in October.

"I know what's happening," said Gurira, who plays Michonne in "TWD." "I'll tell you this much—I know something. I know a little bit more than you."

Earlier this year, Norman Reedus, Gurira's "TWD" co-star, also said that he knows who the victim is.

"I know what happens and it's gut-wrenching," he told Natalie Morales and Tamron Hall during a visit to "The Today Show."

"The Walking Dead" season 7 debuts in October on AMC.
