'The Walking Dead' season 7B spoilers news: actress Christine Evangelista explains Sherry's unlikely bond with Daryl
"The Walking Dead" is promising a more hopeful path when Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew returns for the latter half of season. Following a grueling first few episodes, the team seems to be finally back on track as they, the remaining ones, all converged in the Hilltop to presumably devise a plan against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his cohorts.
All throughout season 7 thus far, fans have learned that while the Saviors seem to be in line with Negan, not all of them are pretty much attuned to their ruthless leader. Given that and the brewing massive battle, the Alexandrians will be needing as much help as they could uniting the Hilltop community as well as Ezekiel's Kingdom. But what about wildcards such as Dwight (Austin Amelio) and maybe even Sherry (Christine Evangelista)?
Dwight is obviously harboring bad feelings against his master, which means that he might be plotting revenge of his own. But Sherry's reserved kindness to Daryl (Norman Reedus) during the time that he was in capture may also be a key piece in Negan's fall from grace. Evangelista tries to shed light on her unlikely likeness to the younger Dixon brother in a recent conversation with Comicbook.com
"I think there's also this thing in Daryl that reminds her of who Dwight used to be, before he turned, before he became a murderer in her eyes. Before they separated," Evangelista said. "It's sad. I think she definitely feels guilt for what she did to [Daryl], even though he tried to help her and her family at the time, but I think she's sort of looking at him now with this longing, like, 'Oh, I don't want what happened to Dwight to happen to you,' if there's anything that she could do. I think that's sort of where she is."
One particular mystery regarding Sherry is the possibility that she may actually be the one who left Daryl the note on his cell, which is something that Evangelista has become extremely coy about. Whatever the case maybe, the actress promises that fans will know soon enough.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 will return with new episodes on AMC sometime early next year.
