'The Walking Dead' Spoilers, Episode Recap: Group Makes It To The Alexandria Safe Zone
"The Walking Dead" in its latest episode finally got Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his gang of survivors to something akin to civilization. However, the hour that aired at 9/8c on AMC first saw Rick trying to continue his "Ricktatorship" as Michonne (Danai Gurira) mounted a coup and successfully took charge.
Aaron (Ross Marquand) was the center of attention at the beginning of the episode as he was brought to the barn where Rick and his group were staying. They then promptly tied him up and proceeded to interrogate him. After he pointed to pictures of the promised safe haven, Rick punched him and knocked him out, but Michonne said she was interested in what Aaron had to say. Once he regained consciousness Aaron informed them about the camper and car that is waiting for them.
Once they reached the vehicles, the group discovered a lot of food, which Rick promptly claimed. The food led Michonne to overrule Rick and decide that she and group will be going with Aaron. Then after the survivors piled into the car and the camper they discovered that Aaron had also been spying on them from afar using a listening cone, which roused their suspicions.
Rick then decided to take another route to the safe zone ignoring Aaron's advice, as a result of which, the group ran into a herd of walkers.
As the car ploughed into the zombies and stalled, a flare was launched in the distance and Aaron ran off screaming with his hands bound. However, Glenn (Steven Yeun) rescued him and then the group successfully fought off the zombies and escaped in the camper. Later the survivors met with Eric (Jordan Woods-Robinson), Aaron's boyfriend who has fractured his leg and launched the flare to help them.
The next morning the group followed Aaron and headed towards the safe zone in Alexandria, Virginia. Then even after the camper stalled, the group was able to reach the gates of the safe zone where Rick was encouraged when he heard the voices of children laughing within.
