'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Character Suffers Devastating Event

An unfortunate incident in one of Genoa City's residents will devastate fans of "The Young and the Restless" this week.

Rumors have it that District Attorney Christine Blair Williams, played by Lauralee Bell, will suffer a miscarriage, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

The online source learned that Christine became overly obsessed with prosecuting Phyllis Newman, played by Gina Tognoni, on charges that she poisoned Kelly Andrews, portrayed by Cady McClain.

"Getting Phyllis behind bars for years has been one of Christine's lifelong goals since she learned Phyllis drove the car that ran her and Paul down more than 20 years ago," Celeb Dirty Laundry said.

"Even though her husband Paul has made his concerns known to pregnant Christine not to let her revenge on Phyllis get to her or the health of their unborn baby on numerous occasions, Christine won't listen," it added.

Christine went into premature labor, eventually losing the baby after refusing to back down from her plans at vengeance, causing her stress level and blood pressure to climb.

But the loss of her unborn child was not enough to mellow down a highly emotional Christine, who is now putting the full blame on Phyllis for her painstaking loss.

She is also said to be planning a highly destructive mission to take Phyllis out once and for all.

The news also broke the heart of her husband, Detective Paul Williams, who had thought that he would finally be able to raise his new child from birth.

Paul had other children: Heather Stevens, Dylan MacAvoy and the late Ricky Williams, but he was not able to become a part of their lives when they were growing up.

The devastating event was also said to have put distance between Paul and Christine as each mourned their loss separately rather than leaned on each other for comfort and support.

Celeb Dirty Laundry said Paul will be seeking comfort from his long-time friend Nikki Newman, who has had many issues to deal with over the past year.

Played by Melody Thomas Scott, Nikki will try and comfort her friend Paul from his grief as she hoped to be saved by her friend from her own as well.
