'This Is Us' spoilers: How will Jack die?

One of the things that "This Is Us" fans know about the show is that Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) will die at some point, leaving his wife, Rebecca, to take care of their family on her own. What they do not know is how and when he will die, which have led many speculations to arise, from him dying in 9/11 to him dying as a result of an affair. However, an information leak hints that he may have died because of drunk driving.

In the penultimate episode of season 1, Kate (Chrissy Metz) revealed that she felt that the blame for her father's death rested on her shoulders. However, it seems that the only thing she has done was to encourage her father to patch things up with his wife, Rebecca (Mandy Moore). While Jack followed his daughter's advice, what Kate did not know was that he stopped at a bar along the way, where a co-worker is holding a going away party. Even though he gets drunk, he still went behind the wheel to try to go after Rebecca, who was on tour with her band. This attempt may have led to his demise.

"This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman has earlier said in an interview with Variety that the circumstances behind Jack's death will not be revealed in season 1. Ventimiglia echoed this in his own interview with Us Weekly, saying that he has not shot his character's death scene yet.

Nonetheless, the show's cast has already warned viewers to prepare themselves for the season finale.

"We're going to destroy America by the end of this season," said Moore in an interview with Variety.

"This Is Us" has rapidly become a fan favorite, leading NBC to pick it up for another two seasons, even though the first one has not stopped airing yet.

The season finale of "This Is Us" airs on March 14, Tuesday, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
