'Thor 3' Movie Release Date, Plot Rumors: No Official Air Date; Film to Feature 3 Major Villains

When Thor returned to Earth to battle along with the Avengers in 2012, he bravely fought at times even without a hammer, using only the remarkable strength of his fists.

This time around in "Thor 3," the powers of the God of Thunder will be enhanced to protect the Earth, Asgard and all the other realms.

"Thor 3" will feature even greater threats yet to be revealed, which will put our superhero's powers to the test. "Thor 3" is expected to be released after the launch of "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Both films do not have official air dates as of yet.

The making of "Thor 3" has been confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege.

As for the cast, only one has been confirmed: Chris Hemsworth will be returning as Thor. Other cast members may include Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, Zachary Levi as Fandral, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, Jamie Alexander as Sif, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, and Elena Satine as Lorelei. Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame is also rumored to join the cast.

"Thor 3" will reportedly adapt the Ragnarok storyline, where the Tree of Yggdrasil will be the beginning of Ragnarok. Surtur will reportedly be the main antagonist who is out to destroy Asgard together with the flame giants of Muspelheim.

Beta Ray Bill may also appear to partner with our superhero in battling Surtur. The film will reportedly feature two other villains—The Executioner and The Enchantress.
