'Thor: Ragnarok' plot spoilers news: Thor and Loki go to New York to look for Odin?
The latest rumors for the upcoming Marvel feature film "Thor: Ragnarok" suggest that Thor will be teaming up with his treacherous adoptive brother once again. This time around, they will be joining forces to look for their father, Odin, but they may need to get out of Asgard to find him.
According to Yibada, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be going out of Asgard to locate Odin (Anthony Hopkins), the Mighty King of Asgard. In the upcoming movie sequel, Thor and Loki will be going to New York City to search for their father. Several behind-the-scenes photos have surfaced online, showing the stills of Hemsworth and Hiddleston in character while they are walking along the streets of New York. At one point, Hemsworth was seen standing right next to a newspaper stand in New York.
It is quite puzzling how Odin would end up in the busy streets of New York. There are rumors that the all powerful and mighty appearance of Odin will be changed to a ragged and homeless New Yorker, who just happens to wander around the big city. Screen Rant provided some interesting theories regarding Odin's fate. To recall, Loki was revealed to be disguising as his adoptive father in the final scene of 2013's "Thor: The Dark World." It is likely that before Loki confronted Thor as Odin, the former already banished his own father outside of Asgard. Odin may have ended up in New York without his power, and has since been living among the humans.
However, Loki, being the imposter ruler of Asgard, will face a bigger problem as Hela (Cate Blanchet) plans to bring a great war called Ragnarok upon the kingdom. Being no match to Hela's power, Loki will be forced to ask Thor's help and look for Odin. This will not be easy, however, as once the brothers are on Earth, Hela will be keeping the portal shut. With this, Thor, Loki and Odin will be trapped in the world of the mortals. This is where the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), enters the picture and aid them in opening a new portal to return to Asgard.
