Tim Tebow on TV show 'Home Free' and its Christian values
NFL star Tim Tebow believes his new TV show "Home Free" has a great message as it promotes the Christian principle of serving others.
"It's a great principle and it's something that I try to live as much as I can," said Tebow in an interview with The Christian Post.
The outspoken Christian and former NFL quarterback co-hosts with home improvement expert Mike Holmes on Fox every Thursday at 9:00 p.m./8:00 p.m. CST. For the show's second season, contestants also try to win a home for someone they consider a hero aside from just trying to win a $100,000 grand prize for themselves. Apart from Holmes and Tebow, the show also casts a pastor and a Christian missionary's son.
"I think that in trying to be able to show America that, it is a blessing to give and you do get more by giving than you do by just trying to take take take," said Tebow, who claimed he considers serving others as important.
He also said other people are just too focused on taking for themselves and can't grasp the idea on how they receive by giving. The 28-year-old star believes one can receive through achieving a sense of peace, fulfilment, or finding one's purpose in life.
In a separate interview, Tebow also talked about how lending a hand to others can lead to finding one's purpose.
"That's where you find your purpose – helping the people who are around you," Tebow shared with People in February. "And there's not a person on earth who can't help someone. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have. God can use anyone."
True to his word, People reported that Tebow led a prayer mid-air with flight passengers Sunday, June 26 as a man in his 60s, who was traveling with his wife and her friend, collapsed. The man received medical attention onboard but later died at a hospital in Phoenix. Tebow, who helped pick up the family's luggage, stayed with them until the man's reported passing.
