Tim Tebow Shares Message of Gratitude After Being Cut By Philadelphia Eagles
Evangelical football player Tim Tebow has expressed his gratitude for the Philadelphia Eagles after the NFL team announced over the weekend that the star player would be cut from its 2016 roster.
The Philadelphia Eagles made the decision this past Friday to select Matt Barkley for third string quarterback over Tebow, but the choice did not stop the evangelical athlete for leaving a message of gratitude and faith on his Twitter account.
"Thanks @Eagles and Coach Kelly for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love! Romans 8:28 #Blessed," Tebow wrote over the weekend.
Tebow previously said in a recent interview that he was not nervous about head coach Kelly's decision to choose between Barkley and himself.
"That's not something I worry about to be honest. I worry about what I can control and that's come out and improve every day, enjoy the process, count your blessings and work extremely hard," Tebow told NJ.com during a recent practice. "You know something I always try to practice is be anxious for nothing, but let your request be known to God. That's how I try to handle that.''
ESPN host Skip Bayless said in a recent airing of "First Take" that Kelly is a "snake in the grass" for making positive comments about Tebow's playing ability and then cutting him.
"I'm so happy now that i don't have to root for Chip Kelly this year. Listen, Chip Kelly — what a snake in the grass he was in the end to Tim Tebow. After all the proclamations about how much he loved Tim, and this is his guy, and wants him on his football team and has the 'it factor' and this and that and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. What did Chip Kelly do after he surprised many people out there, not just me, I think most people were stunned that he whacked Tim Tebow, cut him and as Tim is walking out the back door, he kicked him in the behind by signing Stephen Morris off the waiver wire, who had just been cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars," Bayless said.
