The TLC network officially announced this week that it will be canceling the "19 Kids and Counting" reality show after it was revealed earlier this year that Josh Duggar, one of the stars of the show, had molested his sisters and a family friend when he was a teenager.

The network channel said a statement that "TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with '19 Kids and Counting.'"

"The show will no longer appear on the air," the statement added.

The Duggar family also released a statement regarding the decision to not continue with the show, saying that "With God's grace and help Josh, our daughters and our entire family overcame a terrible situation, found healing and a way forward."

"It is our prayer that the painful situation our family went through many years ago can point people toward faith in God and help others who also have lived through similar dark situations to find help, hope and healing, as well," the statement continued. "We appreciate the love, support, prayers and kindness extended to us by many of you. You have deeply touched our hearts and encouraged us, during this time."

Earlier this year, a police report from ten years ago detailed an incident in which Josh Duggar molested multiple underage girls, including two of his sisters.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Jim Bob Duggar said that the incident included "touching someone over the clothes. It was, like, a few seconds, and then he came to us and crying told us what happened."
