Transformers 5 Release Date, Spoilers: Peter Cullen Asks Director Bay to 'Come Back'

Michael Bay, director of the fourth installment of Transformers, has hinted on his plans to quit the franchise since the completion of the first trilogy. He ended up directing the fourth installment again, much to everyone's surprise. This time, however, it seems like someone else will have to direct the fifth installment.

Voice to the Autobot leader Optimus Prime, more popularly known as Peter Cullen, has expressed his desire in seeing the 4-time Transformer director for the fifth installment.

"I have a great deal of respect for him. He generates a great deal of excitement and energy. He's really a hands-on director. My son is a stunt man and worked in Chicago doing a lot of the driving sequences...he said he's a very, very diligent, hands-on guy", Cullen said in an interview with Cinemablend.

"He creates a great deal of energy and puts everybody on their toes. I would certainly miss him. I think he's brilliant, his mind is unbelievable. Michael if you're [reading] this, I certainly hope you are coming back", he added.

No official cast list has been released by the production team and it looks like it will take a while until we hear about any official announcements on the release date. However, some speculate that it will be out on 2016.

Meanwhile, Latino Post has reported that lead actor Mark Wahlberg will allegedly not return for Transformers 5. On the other hand, speculation suggests that former cast Josh Duhamel will be returning for the next installment. There are also reports about Megan Fox joining the cast, although these have not been confirmed.
