Trump Describes Bible as Similar to 'Great, Incredible Movie'
After receiving criticism for refusing to cite his favorite Bible verse, 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump recently stated that he appreciates the Bible's Book of Proverbs, and he compared the Holy Book to an "incredible movie."
As Trump and other GOP 2016 presidential hopefuls ramp up for Wednesday evening's CNN debate, the real estate mogul told CBN's David Brody that he enjoys reading the Book of Proverbs.
"There's so many things that you can learn from [the Bible]. Proverbs, the chapter 'never bend to envy.' I've had that thing all of my life where people are bending to envy," Trump told Brody, as reported by The Christian Post.
"I don't like to use this analogy, but like a great movie, a great, incredible movie. You'll see it once it will be good. You'll see it again. You can see it 20 times and every time you'll appreciate it more. The Bible is the most special thing," Trump added.
As The Christian Post reports, Trump's aides clarified that the real estate mogul was referencing Proverbs 24: 1-2.
Trump previously came under fire for refusing to reference his favorite Bible verse in an interview with Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect."
"I wouldn't want to get into it. Because to me, that's very personal," the real estate mogul said when asked about his favorite Bible verse.
"The Bible means a lot to me, but I don't want to get into specifics," Trump added.
Others running for the 2016 presidential ticket have criticized Trump for attempting to grab the religious vote without having much knowledge of religion.
