American model and TV host Tyra Banks has recently announced that she is now mother to a baby boy through her social media account.

Banks, 42, shared in an Instagram post last Wednesday that she and her Norwegian boyfriend, Erik Asla, had asked help from a gestational surrogate to assist in the birth of their son, York Banks Asla.

"The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here," she said in the captioned of the Instagram post. "He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin," said the America's Next Top Model host.

Banks thanked the surrogate mother, while mentioning that they would pray for other couples who are undergoing the same tough times.

Banks, who has another talk show, FABLife, said in an inteview in September that she always wanted to have kids of her own, but she kept putting it off because of her busy schedule and her business.

"I'm not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen," she said.

By the time she really wanted to have a child, she realized it was not easy, especially as she grew older. She also shared in the interview with People Magazine the pain she had gone through using IVF procedures.

"I've had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments," Banks said. "It's difficult as you get older. It's not something that can just happen."

Banks has long been praying and hoping of becoming a mother, and the birth of York can definitely be considered a miracle for the talkshow host.
