A shooting on the UCLA campus has killed at least two people on Wednesday, with authorities currently securing the area and searching for the shooting suspect, who at this time has not yet been identified.

The UCLA shooting reportedly took place at the engineering building and took place just before 10 a.m. local time (1 p.m. ET).

Police representatives have said they were made aware of the shooting via an emergency call to their 911 call center. The entire UCLA campus was then placed on lockdown and students were told to stay away from the engineering building and to find shelter.

Reports are questioning whether one of the two males confirmed as dead is the shooting suspect, but authorities have not yet confirmed any details about the victims.

Dozens of police officers could be seen in tactical gear running around the campus, with some entering buildings to search and secure the locations.

LAPD have confirmed that two men were found dead inside the engineering building, apparently killed by gunshot wounds. However, the LAPD have said that no additional suspects had been seen. They were not in a position yet to confirm whether the victims were employees, students or visitors to the campus.

Authorities have also confirmed that various schools in the nearby region were also placed on lockdown as a precaution.
