'Uncharted 4' DLC release date: New report hints story DLC reveal at PlayStation Experience
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is getting a story downloadable content (DLC), with the release date being a mystery until the emergence of a new report.
Sources cited by LetsPlayVideoGames claim that the story DLC for the game will be unveiled in December, during the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016. The event will be held on Dec. 3and 4 in Anaheim, California.
LetsPlayVideoGames also got to interview Troy Baker, who played the role of protagonist Nathan Drake's brother Samuel, at the MCM Comic-Con London.
He revealed during their chat that the "Uncharted 4" DLC will see the light of day "pretty soon," adding that this expansion will be "by far the biggest story DLC Naughty Dog has ever done."
If this is the case, this would explain why it is taking a while for developer Naughty Dog to complete it. Back in June, the studio warned that fans will not hear of the single-player DLC for a while.
At the time, Naughty Dog simply said that they will fill players in on the project "as soon as we're able to give [them] more info." That has not happened yet, but perhaps PSX 2016 will be the stage for that.
Baker implied that the "Uncharted 4" single-player DLC will be huge. Because it will be the biggest that Naughty Dog has ever made, it will definitely take a while to put together. This makes it likely that the PlayStation Experience reveal will give fans a first look of it and will provide a release date rather than the actual availability.
It is important to note that Naughty Dog has actually been working on it for a while. Back in September last year, Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer said that the "Uncharted 4" single-player DLC was inspired by the success of the "Left Behind" expansion for "The Last of Us."
"It worked really well for us for The Last of Us. We thought we could put together a really great piece of content as well [for Uncharted 4]," he stated.
Prior to this exciting bit of news, there were speculations that the highly-anticipated "Uncharted 4" DLC will be launched during the massive event.
On what the expansion will entail, gamers can rule out Drake's child being the focus.
