'Uncharted 4' DLC release date, news, and updates: Sam Drake to star in standalone DLC?
The highly-anticipated single-player downloadable content (DLC) for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" may be right around the corner.
Rumors claim that the standalone expansion of Naughty Dog's action-adventure video game may be revealed during the upcoming PlayStation Experience 2016 event this coming weekend.
According to the information gathered by Jaffameister, the speculated DLC will center on the adventures of Nathan Drake's older brother, Samuel.
In the main game, Sam suddenly appeared after he was assumed to be dead when he failed to break out of prison.
He will reportedly be assisted by Nate's long-time friend Victor "Sully" Sullivan; however, Nate's daughter is not expected to be featured in the new game. The website also claims that the DLC reveal will also feature a gameplay segment, which will be followed by a series of cutscene footages before officially unveiling the actual name of the DLC.
But in an interview with GameSpot, Naughty Dog's director of communications Arne Meyer revealed that they are still contemplating about their plans for the "Uncharted 4" standalone DLC.
"We're so busy on the actual game and I was talking to him and saying that we're taking a big risk here because we have no idea what we're going to do yet," Meyer stated. "We've committed to putting something together and it has to be a high level of quality and have a really engaging story, and we've said that this is the final chapter," he continued.
Meanwhile, Game Rant claims that the rumored "Uncharted 4" DLC might be released for free based on Naughty Dog's commitment to offer in-game modes, maps, and other items to please the players.
There are no details yet about the possible release date of the rumored "Uncharted 4" DLC, but it is expected to be launched in the market sometime before the end of the year.
