'Uncharted 4' DLC release date, news and updates: Trailer comes out for 'Survival' DLC
Fans thought that Naughty Dog was finally done with Nathan Drake and his adventures when they released "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." There is good news for fans though as the developers are planning to launch downloadable content (DLC) called "Survival" this coming December.
A trailer has been released for the game and it's said to allow co-op and single player mode. It also looks to be a horde-type expansion, but some have pointed out that "Survival" seems to have put more effort into it compared to previous games.
In the mode, players have the option to add up to two friends for co-op mode, and like usual horde games, the enemies get tougher and tougher as the players trudge along. What's more is that the mode seems to come with a "Pirate Warlord" boss that is said to come after every ten waves.
The Pirate Warlord isn't even a regular human either. He looks to be some sort of resurrected ghost that has the ability to control fire and deal major damage to anybody going against him. In true "Uncharted" fashion, no challenge for Nathan Drake is complete without the intervention of anything otherworldly or supernatural.
Other reports say that the solo mission that comes with the "Survival" expansion will be focusing on Nathan's brother Sam and classic character Sully. Sully has been in the franchise since the very beginning, but fans have just recently learned that Drake had someone else in the family with a knack for treasure-hunting.
This expansion reportedly aims to be a lot longer than "The Last of Us: Left Behind." Though no story has officially been revealed, "Survival" is sure to be a treat for fans who aren't ready to say goodbye to the "Uncharted" series.
No official release date has been announced for "Uncharted 4: Survival," but fans can expect it to arrive sometime in mid-December.
