'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers, Latest Cast News: Ian Somerhalder To Direct 16th Episode
It looks like the next episode of the "Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will be an exciting one for the fans as Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore, will not only act out his role but also sit behind the camera to direct it. The 16th episode, entitled "The Downward Spiral," will be aired on Jan. 22 on The CW.
Somerhalder took to social media in making the announcement. "Thank you to all involved in the decision-making process for giving me the opportunity to do this -- I am so grateful. I'll do my very very very best not to screw it up," wrote the 36-year-old Somerhalder on his Instagram while posting a photo of the script page.
Along with Somerhalder, Caroline Dries and Brian Young will also be working with him as co-writers.
In the past, Paul Wesley was also asked to direct the 18th episode ("Resident Evil") of the fifth season of "Vampire Diaries." Wesley played as Somerhalder's brother, Stefan.
Wesley also directed another episode in the sixth season, entitled "Woke Up With a Monster," which will be shown this coming year.
Spoilers indicate that the episode directed by Wesley will reveal Kai's (Chris Wood) interest for Elena (Nina Dobrev). We all remember the last episode, "Christmas Through Your Eyes," where Kai knocked Elena out towards the ending scene.
As for the episode to be directed by Somerhalder, details are scarce but tune in to more news this week to find out more about it.
