Dark days are ahead for Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) as he pushes on with his plan to travel to England to confront King Ecbert (Linus Roache). His words no longer hold sway among the Vikings and the only person who agrees to go with him is his son, Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen). He may be a cripple, but at least he has his father's back. Can Ragnar find a crew to man his ships in "Vikings" season 4 episode 12?

According to the official synopsis for the upcoming episode, Ragnar is going to have a hard time finding a crew for his voyage to Wessex. Worse, the inhabitants of Kattegat are telling Ragnar that the gods have deserted him. In the end, he has to settle for old, weathered boats and a crew he has bribed. Not exactly the fleet one would expect from a renowned Viking leader.

Ragnar's fame seems to have taken a turn for the worse since his defeat in France and the people at Kattegat appears to harbor some resentment toward him. Even his own sons Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø), Sigurd (David Lindström), and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) think the gods have forsaken their father.

On the other hand, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) experiences no such troubles as he makes preparations for his expedition to the Mediterranean in Floki's (Gustaf Skarsgård) new boat. As seen in the trailer, Harald Finehair (Peter Franzen) and Halfdan the Black (Jasper Pääkkönen) happen to be joining Bjorn in his voyage.

Meanwhile, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) foresees that Ragnar's fleet will be lost when it encounters a vicious storm and she tries to warn him about her visions. Unfortunately, her warnings go unheeded. Can Ragnar and Ivar survive unscathed?

The trailer also hints that Aslaug and Ragnar's former wife, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) are about to clash.

Titled "The Vision," "Vikings" season 4 episode 12 will air today, Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. ET on History.
