'Vikings' season 4 release date, plot spoilers: Things get bloody in Kattegat as wars springs from every corner
The Vikings can't seem to catch a break as the soils of Kattegat will run red in the latter half of "Vikings" season 4 with war once again enveloping the kingdom.
Production for the next 10 episodes of the season is making headway. Alex Hogh Andersen, whose character Ivar the Boneless will play a bigger role in the second half of the season, has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos in social media.
The actor shared a selfie he took after doing a scene where his character gets all bloody and grimy. He said that things got "crazy" on that "Vikings" season 4 filming day.
In another photo, he said, "You know it has been a messy day if you look like this even though make-up already tried to clean you up."
It's no secret that the rest of "Vikings" season 4 will be bloody for the main characters. For Ivar, it will be his quest to be the most feared king in Kattegat with his father Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) helping him get there.
Speaking of Ragnar, his return to Kattegat after years of disappearance will bring about "calamity, chaos, tragedy and death" to the kingdom so expect some destruction and bloodbath in "Vikings" season 4.
Warfare has definitely become a fixture to the show and another pair of characters set to engage in it includes Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).
The two are set to battle it out for the crown, and the former's thirst for revenge after being left for dead by the latter hints that Aslaug will be in big trouble.
With regards to Rollo (Clive Standen), who has quickly become his brother's biggest rival, it is expected that he will return to his roots in the latter half of "Vikings" season 4.
"Vikings" season 4 premieres this fall on History Channel.
