The Washington Redskins got a great boost after it was revealed that DeSean Jackson is expected to play on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Jackson was injured back in their 27-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and his presence was a big question mark in the coming clash with the Giants.

He had ankle and knee problems but it seems that Jackson may make it in time. He missed one practice session but the team got good news. It was reported that he already resumed training with the Redskins.

Jackson's presence is a great help to the Redskins because they are still winless this season with a 0-2 record. They need all the help they can get as they go up against their National Football Conference East rivals, the Giants.

New York is also the top in its cluster at the moment so the Redskins getting a win this weekend will definitely close the gap.

ESPN reported that Jackson is still seeing limited action in practice but that is definitely better than nothing at all.

Speaking to reporters, Jackson was confident he can make it in time, saying, "Everything will be good by the time we get out there Sunday."

Redskins coach Jay Gruden also had positive thoughts on Jackson playing on Sunday, revealing that: "He will be ready to roll."

Many feared the worst when Jackson came down but it appears that it was more of just a sprain than a serious injury. Jackson admitted that being a veteran in the game, he knows how to work around the knocks.

He should play a major role in the game if the Redskins want to get the victory. The Giants also have a great offense and Washington should establish its own offensive presence if it wants to remain competitive.
