'Watch Dogs 2' free trial update: PS4, Xbox One players need 25 to 28 GB free space for full access
Players who still do not own the hit "Watch Dogs 2" game can take advantage of the three-hour free play today for PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners. Xbox One players can get their free trial on January 24.
The three-hour free trial allows the player to have the complete "Watch Dogs 2" experience as they can also play the multiplayer and cooperative modes, after which, they have an option to purchase the full game or not. The great thing about it is that the players' progress will be saved once they decide to purchase a copy.
PlayStation Lifestyle has provided information about the "Watch Dogs 2" free trial. The access includes:
- Exploring a massive and dynamic open-world offering an incredible variety of gameplay possibilities.
- Hack into the city's infrastructure, every connected device, and everyone's personal database. Take control of drones, cars, cranes, security robots, and much more.
- Use hacking and stealth to complete missions without killing a single enemy or combine hacking and your weapons for a more ferocious approach.
- Stay connected to your friends with a brand new seamless multiplayer experience that includes both Co-op and Player vs. Player activities, all available in a shared open-world experience.
The trial can be downloaded via the Xbox Marketplace or through the PlayStation Store. The demo can be accessed by searching the game and choosing "Try Free Demo" for PS4. For Xbox One, players will just have to choose the "Play Trial" option.
Since the free play of "Watch Dogs 2" comes with all the game features, it is necessary to free up about 25 to 28 GB of space. The exact size of the game is not mentioned since it differs at different locations. The first mission needs 12 GB of space.
According to Engadget, the free trial may have been prompted by "Watch Dogs 2's" performance in the global market as it went down by 80 percent in the United Kingdom charts. Their decision to offer a free play is apparently a wise move as it recognized as a quality game.
