'Wolfenstein: The Old Blood' Release Date, Game Review: Nazi Zombies to Attack in Game
"Wolfenstein: The Old Blood" is an upcoming first-person shooter game and prequel to the previous game "Wolfenstein: The New Order" which was released last year and went on to garner excellent reviews.
The latest iteration in the game is due for release on May 5 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Most of the recent news about the game pointed towards the inclusion of Nazi Zombies.
The arrival of zombies was shown in a Vine video released by Bethesda, the publisher of the game developed by MachineGames. Even though zombies were not part of the original plan for the game, they have been included apparently in consideration of their growing popularity. The video, however, did not provide any details as to how the Zombies would arise.
However, games in the series often focus on magical artifacts that Nazis are looking for and the zombies could result from these artifacts going bad.
"Wolfenstein: The Old Blood" is expected to feature a huge amount of graphic violence, gore, blood and bad language. It has already been rated "M," or for mature gamers only. It earned the rating because as per its description it has "chunks of flesh/blood strewn around game environments, and characters being stabbed, electrocuted, and one character's body is eaten by a dog."
Coming to the main protagonist, action will focus on B.J. Blazkowicz, a military ranger with the American forces, as he goes up against the Nazis in 1946. So far two parts of the game have been revealed. One is titled "Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves." In it the protagonist will face off with a mad prison warden after he sneaks into Castle Wolfenstein to find the coordinates that will lead him to General Deathshead's compound.
Part two of the game is named "The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs" and it will see Blazkowicz going to city of Wulburg where he will encounter a Nazi archaeologist who is searching for mysterious artifacts. One particular artifact will set loose a dark and deadly force and it is expected that zombies will rise as a result of this.
