WWE 2K15 Roster, Gameplay Review PS3, Xbox 360: Spoilers, New Features, Release Dates

Ahead of the official release of the WWE 2K15 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 28, video game reviewers have dished out bits of spoilers on the latest version of the wrestling game, particularly about its new NXT-centered career mode.

Just days after the game hits the stores, 2K Sports is expected to release its next-gen versions on Nov. 18.

Following a recent trip to the WWE Performance Center, reviewer Danny O'Dwyer of GameSpot said he got a chance to play the game but wasn't allowed to film it. 2K Sports officials also forbid him from talking about certain modes in the game.

O'Dwyer said the game features more realistic interactions with the ring environment.

On the game's negative side, O'Dwyer said it has a slower pace than its previous editions. He also said the matches felt very technical, sometimes even "soulless."

He zeroed in on the game's exciting new MyCareer mode.

In this mode, he said, you create a wrestler and train him as he rises from obscurity to global stardom.

Your created wrestler begins his rise to fame with a tryout match against a fictional Superstar in front of trainer Bill DeMott.

If you succeed in the tryout, your wrestler will then tangle with a series of opponents including NXTers Rusev, Bo Dallas, Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville and Corey Graves.

But in this game winning isn't everything. A 2K Sports press release says just winning your matches will not guarantee your progress. Other factors will also contribute to that. The press release says among these factors are the decisions you make throughout the WWE developmental process, including the alliances, rivalries and social media interactions you will make. These moves will affect your wrestler's personality traits and crowd reactions as well.

As your player moves up the rank, you will have opportunities to upgrade your player's attributes that will allow him to acquire new abilities, skills and moves, earn new clothing and unlock new managers.

Your decisions, together with your player's win-loss record, will lead you to one of many branching storylines where you will be met by surprises, twists and turns – the game's fun factor. You can also replay your moves as you explore other career paths.

The game makers said they introduced this factor to spice up the game. They noted that most wrestling games simply focus on just wins and losses. Putting on a great show is at the core of what pro wrestling is, 2K Sports says.

IGN reviewer Vince Ingenito talked about his MyCareer experience: "The thing is, that ride can be either explosively fast or arduously long, and ultimately, it may never lead exactly where you want it to go."

Ingenito likened it to an RPG. He said this makes the game more addictive than its earlier versions. A player can't simply run through the roster in a couple of hours. It will require investing a good amount of time and energy, he said.

Bleacher Report's Brian Mazique said in the game's Career Invasion part, "gamers are able to import up to five of their friends' created wrestlers into their MyCareer experience."

A drawback though, he said, is that face scans won't be a part of creating a wrestler.

Moreover, players who only have current-gen consoles won't be able to play the MyCareer mode. Only the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will have it.
