'WWE 2k17' release date on PS4, Xbox One, PC news update: More wrestling superstars confirmed in roster; game to feature 'Backstage Brawl'
This week again revealed a new batch of wrestling superstars that made it to the roster of 2k Sports' latest video game, "WWE 2k17." The ever-growing list of WWE superstars in the upcoming game will include old and new faces of the wrestling industry. Some of the additional wrestlers will be featured for the first time in a 2k Sports game.
Fans will find the latest gameplay addition in "WWE 2k17" interesting, as the action inside the ring can now go backstage. It has been reported that the latest gameplay called "Backstage Brawl" will allow players to follow their opponents outside the ring to the backstage and continue their battle. Moreover, while outside the ring, players can regain their stamina by resting. When they have fully recovered, they will have the option to continue the fight in the ring or stay outside.
Another gameplay addition called "Fighting in the Crowd" is similar to "Backstage Brawl," as it will also allow the players to fight outside the ring and be with the crowd as the wrestler takes on an opponent. Moreover, there will be a new taunting system so players can make their chosen WWE superstar perform a signature taunt. Taunting an opponent will give the players an extra boost in damage, as well as partial momentum boost.
The Bitbag reported that the lineup of wrestlers in "WWE 2k17" will include A.J. Styles, Becky Lynch and the Dudley Boyz. It will be AJ Styles' first chance to be present in a WWE video game, while the Dudley Boyz have been missing out for a while. The last time they appeared as playable characters in a video game was in "Smackdown vs. Raw" for the PlayStation 2.
Meanwhile, a separate report from The Bitbag confirmed recent rumors that Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke and Emma will also be in the new video game's roster for the "NXT Edition." This will be Emma's first time to be featured in a "WWE" video game.
The long list of WWE superstars included in this year's roster was already provided earlier. IGN listed the male and female wrestlers joining the rumble in the video game. This includes Alundra Blayze, Arn Anderson, Bam Bam Bigelow, Bo Dallas, Butch, Christian, Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler, Eva Marie, Fandango, Kofi Kingston, Lita, Mr. Perfect, Naomi, Natalya, Neville, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Rikishi, Shawn Michaels, Stardust, Sting, Summer Rae, Tamina, Tatsumi Fujinami, Trish Stratus, Tyler Breeze and Xavier Woods.
