WWE Rumors: Charlotte asks for time off from the WWE

In one of the bigger news from this week's World Wrestling Entertainment, Sasha Banks has been crowned the new WWE Women's Champion.

Many viewed this as a long overdue feat as Banks has been one of the most popular superstars in the league today.

And with the new era of the WWE coming in, many believed she was poised to continue her rise, eventually winning the WWE title which was held by Charlotte.

However, Fan Sided reported that the main reason why Banks won the title was because Charlotte requested for some time off from the industry.

If it was true, then the move made a lot of sense as Banks was understood to be the next title holder, but many expected it to happen during SummerSlam.

It was anti-climactic in a wider perspective as her win occurred in Raw, but Charlotte's request for some time off is a valid result to slap the title on Banks.

According to 411mania, Charlotte is still expected to appear in all her scheduled shows, but it is very daunting why she opted to lose her title in Raw instead of a bigger stage.

The report stated that it could also be because Charlotte's prior reign has been unquestioned that she may be opening her doors to new storylines instead of constantly jousting against Banks who is easily the most popular female fighter.

There is also the suggestion that their pending battle in SummerSlam may add a new angle as Banks is the champion now and Charlotte will try to regain the title by any means necessary. Being the daughter of Ric Flair, then doing everything possible to win a match may just what Charlotte resorts to in a big pay-per-view event.

These are only some of the various rumors surrounding the movement in titles in the women's division. Expect Banks to hold on to the title until SummerSlam and see what new storylines emerge from there.
