With the action in the ring heating up in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), speculations about the return of a popular superstar have also been making the rounds in the rumor mill.

Early in the year, Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from the sport as he cites many injuries, including concussions, as the main reason for him leaving professional wrestling in a competitive manner. However, there were rumors that went around, citing the wrestler's possible return.

At the moment, he is the General Manager of SmackDown Live but was part of a tasty promo with superstar The Miz, which speculated that Bryan may be making his way back to action.

In an interview reported by Heavy, Bryan commented on the promo with The Miz and believes that if he had the "guts," he would quit the WWE and make his way back to wrestling through other shows; specifying the Tokyo Dome as a likely destination.

However, various reports quickly surfaced disputing the fact that Bryan was making his return, citing different cases outside of the ring that the WWE are currently trying to settle.

Sports Illustrated revealed that it was unlikely for Bryan to return, given the injuries that he has and how close it hits home with WWE's current multi-million dollar concussion lawsuit.

Given that they are in hot water with the issue, they are very unlikely to bring back Bryan despite him being one of the most popular wrestlers of this generation.

It is improbable for the WWE to risk Bryan in action as they will be under fire with the lawsuit.

Still, toying with the chance that Bryan would make a return will give the WWE a whole new storyline they could play around with in SmackDown.

Despite being out of action, Bryan's presence in the show can only mean good things for the brand.
