WWE rumors update: Kevin Owens vs Brock Lesnar for Universal Championship at Royal Rumble?
There are rumors going around that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will pit WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens against Brock Lesnar.
The match will reportedly be held at Royal Rumble 2017, where Owens will see the end of his reign as the champion, which fans are enjoying so far.
Lesnar currently holds an undefeated streak. His last match left his opponent Randy Orton with ten staples on his head after brutal and bloody showdown at SummerSlam.
It is believed that despite The Beast Incarnate's dominance, his streak will not go on forever. Whether or not it will be KO who will serve up his defeat remains a mystery for now.
Either way, there is a reason for fans to worry about Owens knowing how Lesnar defeated The Viper and his reputation in the company.
Fans seem to love Owens as the Universal Champion because for the first time, WWE got it right with the superstar, who was always stuck in midcard matches when fans know he could headline an event.
Forbes says that WWE has finally realized that and is pushing Owens as the top guy for Raw. However, WWE also has big love for Lesnar so it looks like things will be tough to predict should these two lock horns.
Fans would not forget Finn Balor, who was the first man to win the Universal Championship. When he returns presumably early next year, it is certain he will get a title match.
Whoever the champion will be at the time, he is sure to take on and an idea of Balor and Owens, who were both from NXT, also sounds amazing.
At the moment, Lesnar, being a part-time performer for WWE, does not show up much in WWE Live TV. Owens, on the other hand, continues to defend the Universal Title.
He will battle Seth Rollins in a championship match at WWE Clash of Champions 2016 on Sept. 25. Bleacher Report says that Owens should win the match and retain his title as the KO-mania is just getting started.
