After losing to Finn Balor in a match for the number one contender spot in SummerSlam, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) appears to place Roman Reigns a notch lower as a mid-card superstar.

Reports initially contemplated that Reigns moving to mid-card may help him in the long run in order to gain the love of the fans.

Reigns remains one of the biggest draws in the WWE, and as much as many do not like him, he commands a following as well. However, Reigns and the WWE do not have the correct recipe that would put Reigns in the levels of John Cena, The Rock, or even Brock Lesnar.

Additionally, losing against Balor was the nail in the coffin. Now, Reigns can be seen feuding against Rusev, and they are looking to battle for the United States Championship.

At the moment the Bulgarian superstar holds the title, but there are speculations that Reigns may be poised to win it down the line.

Speculations suggest that it may be the scenario and that dropping down a notch will help the fans eventually warm up to Reigns until he climbs back up to constantly battle for the Universal Championship.

The report continued by claiming that the recent wedding of Rusev and Lana may have a direct result on moving the United States Championship to Reigns.

Since Rusev is the champion, he cannot have time off. However, if Reigns takes the title away, then Rusev may find some time off to spend with his wife.

As this feud continues, many are also expecting it to reach a boiling point once the two face off in the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

This is where Reigns may get the title and continue his re-development to eventually be a crowd favourite.

These speculations are not final in any way, Reigns may still turn heel in order to gather more attention from the crowd. Fans should check out Monday Night Raw to see how this rivalry continues.
