Fox has confirmed ongoing talks that could make fans of long-gone s hit drama series "The X-Files" and "Prison Break" go crazy.

The network's chief executive officers Dana Walden and Gary Newman have both confirmed about seriously chasing a reboot of the science fiction horror drama as well as TV serial drama series.

"It's true that we've had some conversations on X-Files. We're hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point," Newman said, according to the Entertainment Weekly.

But Walden explained the revival would not happen without stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as well as the show creator, Chris Carter, on board.

"Gary and I both worked (at 20th Century Fox Television) through the entire run of the X-Files. It was a great experience (and) we've maintained good relationships with Chris, David, and Gillian," Walden said.

"We're very hopeful, but it's hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it's just trying to carve out the time," the Fox executive added.

Duchovny is currently working on the Charles Manson drama "Aquarius" on NBC while Anderson has a recurring role in "Hannibal."

Both actors would presumably have to get contractually clear of their commitments to Fox's rival before signing onto an "X-Files" relaunch, Mashable said.

"X-Files" is a supernatural procedural, which was a major hit for the network from 1993 to 2002.

The Fox executives also admitted being open to discussions to bringing back "Prison Break," which starred actors Wenworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

"There is some speculation in the press about 'Prison Break,' which honestly was slightly news to us," Newman said, according to Mashable.

The reports went around ahead of Miller and Purcell's reunion as recurring villains in "The Flash," a superhero series on The CW.

"We've made it clear over the years to the studio that we would bring 'Prison Break' back in a heartbeat. It's probably the perfect event series," Newman added.

"If our old partners in that show are interested, that would be great," he continued.

The only wrinkle, of course, is that the return would likely be a prequel since Miller's character, Michael Scofield, died in the 2009 conclusion of the series.

Created by Paul Scheuring, "Prison Break" revolves around two brothers carrying out an elaborate plan to help the other one escape prison. It ran from 2005 to 2009.
