Xbox Games with Gold September 2016 free games list announced: This month's games include 'Earthlock:Festival of Magic' and 'Assassin's Creed: Chronicles'
Xbox Live Gold members are in for a treat in the coming month, with four new Xbox titles to be made available for unlimited gaming.
On Wednesday, Aug. 24, Microsoft announced the four new titles being added to Xbox Live Gold members' libraries in September. In the coming month, Games with Gold is offering two Xbox One dedicated titles and two Xbox 360 titles. The Xbox 360 titles can be played on the Xbox One through Xbox One Backward Compatibility. This means that Xbox Live Gold members are getting four titles free of charge as one of the perks of their Xbox Live membership.
In September, the Xbox Live Games with Gold free games list includes "Earthlock: Festival of Magic," "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China," "Forza Horizon," and "Mirror's Edge."
"Earthlock: Festival of Magic," which retails for $29.99, is an all-new role-playing video game developed by Snowcastle Games. The game, which takes place in the world of Umbra, is described by Business Insider as resembling the Japanese RPG "Final Fantasy." "Earthlock: Festival of Magic" is scheduled for worldwide release on Sept.1. For Xbox Live Gold members, it will be available for free from Sept. 1 to 30.
"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China," a spin-off of the massively popular "Assassin's Creed" video game series, retails for $9.99 but will be available as a free download for Xbox Live Gold members between Sept. 16 and Oct. 15.
The third title in the list, "Forza Horizon," retails for $19.99 but can be downloaded for free from Sept. 1 to 15. "Forza Horizon" is one of the most recognizable racing games in recent history, and the game will surely psych players up for the upcoming "Forza Horizon 3," which comes out Sept. 27.
The fourth title, "Mirror's Edge," retails for $14.99 and will be available for free from Sept. 16 to 30. The action/adventure platformer, which is published by EA, takes place in a quasi-futuristic dystopian society. The game was first released in 2009.
