It looks like Microsoft wants to end the year with a bang by adding several notable games to its Xbox One Backward Compatibility program this month. And once again, Xbox Live's Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson is the bearer of good news. Hryb revealed that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's "Injustice: Gods Among Us" and Atari's "Haunted House" have been added to the list.

"Injustice: Gods Among Us" is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios featuring a roster of several heroes and villains from the DC Universe. The game did quite well and it managed to spawn the critically acclaimed comic book series of the same name. A sequel is also in the works and it is scheduled to come out next year.

"Haunted House" is the sequel of the '80s Atari game of the same name. In the game, players will have to navigate their way through a haunted mansion in their search for the protagonist of the original game who seemingly disappeared.

Microsoft also added "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," "Astropop," "Trine 2" and "Medal of Honor Airborne" to its Xbox One Backward Compatibility program late last month. There are already hundreds of games on the roster and a lot more will be added before the year ends.

Meanwhile, here's a guide on how to install games that are on Xbox One's Backward Compatibility list. For digital titles, gamers don't have to do much because the games in the roster will automatically show up in the "Ready to Install" section. Just click away.

To install disk-based games in the catalog, gamers should insert the game disc into the Xbox One console and it will automatically download the game to the hard drive. After downloading is done, the game should be ready. However, players should keep the game disc in the drive to run these games.
