Xiaomi Mi Mix specs, price and latest update: pearl white variant launched at CES 2017
Xiaomi debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 with the grand Mi Mix launch. The smartphone was already released last year, but the event has the world witnessing a new white variant that is set to be launched in China this 2017.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix white variant has no price details revealed yet, but it is expected to be announced before the China release. The company did not give further details on the smartphone at the event as well.
The regular Xiaomi Mi Mix variant was already out in 2016, but only as a limited edition. The smartphone is a result of the company's partnership with French designer Philippe Stark. Back then, the handset was available in two variants to choose from. The first one has 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) with 128 GB internal storage and the other one is 6 GB of RAM with a whopping 256 GB internal storage. Both variants are available in black hue.
Xiaomi Mi Mix also features the bezel-less technology, curved-edge display and a ceramic shell. However, according to NDTV, the most noticeable specs are its ultrasonic proximity sensor and piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker. The former feature is different from other devices as it ditches the traditional infrared sensor located at the front.
The handset can connect via 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) support, Mi Pay support, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. It also has a barometer, an ambient light sensor, accelerometer and electronic compass, among others. Powered by a 4,400-milliampere hour (mAh) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, it promises long life and quick charging abilities.
Other features include a 6.4-inch display that has a 17:9 aspect. It has a pixel density of 362ppi coupled with 1,080 x 2,040-pixel resolution and 94 percent NTSC color gamut. It is also packed with 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 system on chip (SoC), a 16-megapixel (MP) camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone light-emitting diode (LED) flash and PDAF. The selfie camera can shoot 5MP pictures.
