Xiaomi Mi Note vs Motorola Droid Turbo Specs Comparison: Price and Features Review - Beauty Takes On Pure Power

The Mi Note from Xiaomi beats the powerful Droid Turbo from Motorola in the looks department but otherwise lags behind as it doesn't have the more powerful processor and longer battery life of its rival.

Design

Motorola forgot about design when it created the Droid Turbo, resulting in an uninspired plastic frame with edges having a metallic band. It also has capacitive buttons on its front while it back panel is made up of either Kevlar or ballistic nylon. The Mi Notem, on the other hand, is a glass and metal beauty, with both its front and back panels featuring curved Gorilla 3 Glass and its frame made of aluminum.

Display

Comparing their displays, the Droid Turbo has a smaller 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the Mi Note it has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.

Platform

Both phones run the Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) operating system. While there are plans to upgrade the Droid Turbo to 5.0 Lollipop, there is no news about the same upgrade in the Mi Note. In terms of specs, the Droid Turbo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU while the Mi Note has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

The Droid Turbo and the Mi Note both do not have external memory slots. In terms of RAM, the Mi Note and the Droid Turbo both have 3 GB versions.

Battery

With its 3900 mAh battery, the Droid Turbo provides about 48 hours of talk time while the Mi Note has a smaller 3000 mAh battery.

Camera

Comparing the cameras on the devices, the Mi Note has a 13 megapixel version at its rear while the Droid Turbo has a 21 megapixel version.

Price

The full retail price of the Mi Note is pegged at $399 while the Droid Turbo costs $199 with a two-year contract and $599 without one.
