Despite previous rumors that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 could be launched in China last year, on Dec. 30, the much-awaited gadget has not been released yet. Even then, many were not that disappointed when the rumor proved to be false.

What tech enthusiasts had high hopes for was the tech company's first-ever press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Jan. 5, during which most of them expected that the new Mi Pad 3 could be officially announced along with other highly-anticipated gadgets.

Xiaomi's participation at the annual Consumer Electronics Show was supposed to be the Chinese tech company's opportunity to properly introduce itself into the huge US market. But instead of debuting a new Mi 5C or the new Mi 3 tablet, the tech company only debuted existing products exclusive to its home market in China, according to CNET.

At the event, Xiaomi only showed off the Mi TV 4, a new, super-slim modular 4K TV; Mi MIX White, a new white version of its Mi Mix concept phone; and the Mi Router HD, a 4x4 MU-MIMO networking device with speeds of up to 2,600Mbps.

Although rumors about its release date may be wrong, speculations about the specs and features of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is still continuing to gain ground.

As previously reported, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 will be featuring a 9.7-inch display, packed with a 2048 x 1536 resolution display and a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. The Mi Pad 3 will also be powered by the Intel seventh-generation Core m3-7Y30 processor as well as the Intel HD Graphics 615 graphics card.

The gadget is rumored to be equipped with 8GB of RAM and internal storage options of 128GB or 256GB. It will also be built with a 16-megapixel rear camera, with a dual-tone LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera. It will also run with a Windows 10 operating system, pre-installed with Microsoft Suite and Cortana.

Until now, Xiaomi has yet to officially announce a launch event for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3.
