Xperia Z4 vs LG G3 Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - Sony's Latest Smartphone Sturdier and with Better Specs

Last year, one of the best flagship smartphones that came out was the LG G3 and it was able to withstand competition from the Sony Xperia Z3. With the newly released Xperia Z4 coming with just few improvements over its predecessor, the LG G3 again proves it has the specs and features to put up a stiff fight. Here is a comparison between the two phones:

Design

When comparing the design of both devices, it is clear that the LG G3 has a premier coating which gives it a metallic look although it is actually made from plastic. The device has slim bezels and feels good in the hand. As for the Xperia Z4, it looks very much like the Z3 with a metal frame and glass on its back panel. However, a major advantage of the Xperia Z4 is that it is waterproof and can be immersed up to a depth of one meter of water for 30 minutes.

Display

In terms of display size and quality, the LG G3 pulls ahead as it has an IPD LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. As for the Xperia Z4, it has a smaller IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.

Specs

Released only recently, the Xperia Z4 features better specs than its competitor and comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores, four Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 430 GPU. LG G3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset coupled with a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

When it comes to memory slots, both the Xperia Z4 and the LG G3 have similar versions that allow for the addition of 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, again both come with similar 3 GB versions, but the 16 GB LG G3 has 2 GB onboard.

Camera

The LG G3 has a 13 megapixel camera at its rear, but it has optical image stabilization which is not present in the 20 megapixel main camera on the Xperia Z4.

Price

The Sony Xperia Z4 could be priced at $900 without a contract, while the LG G3 is priced at $150 with a two-year contract.
